We want to get to know you! Briefly tell us about yourself: Where you came from, where you've been and how you live your dream (or are working toward it).
I want you to just imagine for a second being twenty-five newly married, your dream job is taken away from you, your living at your parents house (PRACTICALLY) and you can’t stop having flashbacks, you are crawling under tables to keep you feeling safe and your anxiety leads you into the psychiatric hospital. We’ve created a unique approach that has helped empower hundreds of people to change their lives. My story is what started it all. For twenty-five years we searched for answers to my sensitivity to light, sound, sleepless nights, overwhelm, test anxiety and underlying anger. I went from feeling like the biggest failure, ending up in the psychiatric hospital almost being divorced six months into my marriage to feeling unstoppable, raising two beautiful baby boys, married for 6 1/2 years all because I stepped into my power! Oh man there is so much more! You can read more on these different blogs: https://mendingmotherhood.com/how-could-someone-who-was-experiencing-so-much-anxiety-raise-another-human-being-carlys-story/ https://breakandbloom.com/blogs/news/help-your-little-one-come-into-the-world-feeling-calm?fbclid=IwAR0mNGiR6frO0TXG5DyBEt7wXu4QZdpAtZE3K709XiI1jQvGnKC4m3nSGUY https://www.lostgotfound.org/carlys-story
How do you define success and how do you stay motivated to keep working toward it?
Success to me is being able to be present and embrace the beauty of my everyday life with my family and friends.
What’s been your biggest challenge, perceived failure or fear and how did you overcome it?
My debilitating anxiety. It was so bad with over 100 panic attacks in the first week of getting my dream job of being a kindergarten teacher that I had to resigned. I ended up in the hospital, rushed for an endoscopy, almost was divorced six months into my new marriage and let's just say it was horrific. Now I feel absolutely unstoppable. I have been married for 61/2 years, have two beautiful boys. One is three and the other is two months, I'm living my life of running my own business with my sister and my mother and I am the happiest I have ever been. There are many things that have helped me get where I am today. I literally tried everything. From chiropractic care, Chinese medicine, herbs, biofeedback, neurofeedback, affirmations, oils, yoga, meditation, exercising, you name it I tried it all. It wasn't until I went into my subconscious mind and got to the root cause of where all the limited beliefs were and where it all began with my overwhelm. There are answers if people want them.
What’s the best advice you’d give to a younger you?
The best advice I would give to my younger self is remember that the answers are inside of you. You already know what is best for you. Trust yourself.
Share a book, quote and/or idea that's impacted you the most:
"Be the energy you want to attract"
What are you most proud of? Go ahead, boast a little!
I am most proud of how I was feeling like a failure in 2015 to now in 2020 I feel on top of the world and unstoppable
What is something surprising about you?
hmmm...I like to be silly and make up songs with my three year old. I love feeling like a kid again.
What is your favorite vice/guilty pleasure/strange habit? Come on now, we all have them!
For sure it would have to be Kettle Cooked Chips and BBQ sauce
Share a time when a perceived failure was actually a blessing in disguise.
When I had over 100 panic attacks in the first week of my dream job. Now I am able to share my story and bring so much hope to individuals that haven't been able to find answers to symptoms they are experiencing and thoughts they think everyday.
What's the smartest investment you’ve made for yourself?
Hiring a coach
What’s MOST important to you right now?
What's most important to me right now is that I get my story out there. We are losing people left in right to suicide, shootings, anxiety and so much more because these patterns have gotten ingrained in our minds. I need people to understand that there are answers if they are ready to step into their power. This world needs to know about the work we do as we have empowered over hundreds of people to change their life. Guess what and you can too!
Who is the Risk Taker Dream Maker(s) that inspires you? Why?
Danielle Smason. She is the reason why I am where I am today. Not only is she my sister she is a soup supporter that has taught me how to step into my power. Her story is incredible. She has put back together her relationship three different times and now they are happily married for a year now with a new baby boy.
