Phonetic Leadership Trainer and Coach

Tell us about yourself: Where you came from, where you've been and how you're living your dream?

I grew up in Florence, SC and moved to Charlotte in 2002. In the last 16 years I have done a lot of personal growth and development. That development has allowed me to train and coach for several organizations.

How do you define success?

Waking up everyday to train/coach to impact the lives of many. Also living in the moment enjoying the world and all it has to offer. One day having a beautiful family to create memories of love and laughter. But lastly, when my grandkids come about my wish is to have great stories to tell and to have created a legacy.

What did it take to make your dream happen and when did you know you had arrived?

My dream began to unfold the first time I spoke at a commencement. While exploring opportunities to coach and train ambition began to consume me. I could only think of how to others experience what it's like to have more out of life.

What are you most proud of? Go ahead, boast a little!

I have authored two books and co-authored one. My last project was released back in April and it's called, "The Blueprint: 30 Days to a Life Intent." Coaches love it and have been using it to measure growth with their clients. Most recently I received the Women Add Value award from a member of the United Nations and was featured in a documentary all in the same week. I have been featured in the Huffington Post, Wealth Place, Connect Woman and interviewed on the 1onONE with Damon Davis Show.

What was your biggest obstacle/fear and what was your turning point?

My biggest fear was that success would come and then I would lose it. The turning point in my life was when I defined success for myself. It can't be lose or taken away, and shouldn't be compared with the journey of others.

What’s the best advice you’d give to a younger you?

Be confident and believe in yourself. Never dim your light because you believe someone else's is brighter or stronger. Know that you have the power and ability to create the life you deserve.

How do you stay motivated and purposeful when you feel overwhelmed?

When my days aren't going so well I push myself to bath in positivity. Sometimes mental timeouts work best, and they give me a chance to regain focus and to fight another day.

Tell us a time when a perceived failure was actually a blessing in disguise or served you in a surprising way.

I started my training business some years ago. After finishing the iPEC program it was apparent I still had a lot to learn. In the beginning it felt like a failure, but those skills and leadership experiences are still applicable today. It's apparent in every situation there's an opportunity for growth.

What is your favorite vice/guilty pleasure/strange habit? Come on now, we all have them!

Some of my favorite actives are traveling, buying accessories, eating anything that has peanut butter and watching movies when I can.

What's the smartest investment you’ve made for yourself?

The investment I made to attend IPEC and to continue to create opportunities to grow professionally.

What’s MOST important to you right now?

Continuing my personal and professional development is big priority. I also want to find a place that allows me to live a life filled with family, love and laughter.

Share 1-2 books you've given as gifts:

The Four Agreements ; Anxious for Nothing

What have you learned to say no to?

Taking on other people's problems as my own. My goal is to teach the man to finish not to continually feed him.

What's something most people would never guess about you?

As a kid we moved around a lot, and I felt like a nomad at times. Sometimes the places weren't very inviting, and I would be ashamed to have friends over. But as a result of those situations I began to think outside of the box and create opportunities for more. My business was created when I was a kid with a desire for what it would be like to have more out of life.

Who is a Risk Taker Dream Maker that's inspired you?
